How the world will change

Sun Feb 1, 2009, 10:14 PM
I realized today how important it is to take pictures of the things that catch your eye or make you happy. The world changes at an unpredictable rate that it's often the only way you can preserve those which brought joy. It doesn't even have to have a huge effect on you. Simple thing are still important.

Ok sure that's all obvious, but it became a surreal thing to reflect upon when I visited Ashland today. I have a few shots in my gallery which were taken there. For instance,[link] and [link] are no longer there. It's like these things that were symbols of this town are no longer existent there. That statue was there ever since i can remember, and has been beheaded multiple times. Now, Its completely gone. There is only a stone base left with a memoir of that man. It is a dead memory in a town where has brought a great amount of fond times.

It's like when you grew up going to a specific playground, and then you go back years later to find that they've torn down all your favorite parts, completely recreated the park. It may not be a huge thing for everyone, but it's still going to leave a bad taste in your mouth as uneasy nostalgia.

So, though my gallery is not impressive I'm glad to have captured what is there, blah and i need to post more.
Man, I need a real camera >.>

Oh how exciting, you'll have to take loads of photos! I'm pretty great thank you, I started uni about a month ago so things are starting to get really hectic! It's so nice to have lots to do and lots of things to think about though.
Take care and have a great time away!
